Blog #8
After completing the Web Design assignment, I gained some new skills that will help me in the future as an educator in this time of technological advancement. It was overall a fun assignment, it got me excited for when I will have my own classroom with my own students and parents to communicate with. This assignment helped me to become more aware of what kinds of things I can include in my website that I would never have thought of before, like a "contact us" option. I really liked being able to be creative and have fun with making my website.
I have not used Diigo since our first portfolio check, so I have not been able to learn anything new since I last used it. But I did learn a lot when I first used the website.
It is important for teachers to stay up to date on technological advancements in education. Students are always looking for the next "thing" when it comes to social media and technology. They lose respect for a teacher who tries to relate to them but is three steps behind the wave. That is why it is so crucial to stay educated as educators and not just assume we know everything and are experts. This journal is useful for staying informed and if worth the subscription.
Hello Abbie, I really liked your blog. In terms of the CRAP principles, I felt you did really great on your contrast throughout the website, your background was very colorful but your words were easy to read. For repetition, I felt you were consistent with your fonts throughout the website, as well. For alignment, everything seemed straight and level and there wasn't anything out of place. Last but not least, for proximity, you had all of your information grouped together accordingly! Overall it was really great to see your website.
ReplyDeleteHi Abbie, you’re website looks great! Your color choices contrasted very well. Your website was consistent which qualifies the repetition requirement. The alignment and proximity of your website looks very good! Great job!
ReplyDeleteHi Abbie, I think overall your blog looks really good. The use of contrast throughout is good and you doubled up on ways to access all the information. That is very important, especially since your page is aimed at middle schoolers. It looks good, is easy to read for the most part, easy to navigate, and consistent. I think this was a good website that followed the design principals discussed in class.
ReplyDeleteI appreciate how simple your website is and how colorful it is. I did think the alignment and symmetry was off on some sections of a couple of the pages, but I do know how frustrating weebly is. It looks good overall.
ReplyDeleteHi Abbie! I absolutely adored your use of color for your class website! I often find it much more engaging to interact with a much more colorful website rather than one that's more bland looking. I also loved how simple it was! Sometime it's best to keep things more straightforward, especially when it comes to techy things like creating websites, that way it's quite easy for visitors to navigate through your website! The properties of alignment and proximity look great and I think you excelled especially with your use of contrast. Well done!
